Could Chester Taylor get more carries?

RB Chester Taylor refused to reiterate Brett Favre's statement about being underused.

"I can't say nothing about it now. I'm not there,'' he said. "I can't do anything about it now. I just do what I can as a Chicago Bear.''

Some would say Taylor hasn't been utilized as expected here, either. Through eight games, the ninth-year veteran has 65 touches — 68 less than starter Matt Forte. Taylor had just 19 carries through the first four games before the Bears decided to make him the short-yardage back. He has had 35 carries in the last four contests, including a season-high 18 at Carolina.

Offensive coordinator Mike Martz sounded willing to increase Taylor's role Sunday because of the game's personal significance to Taylor.

"It's a special game for him, and we want to make that special for him as well,'' Martz said.
