DAL: working to get in and out of the huddle faster.

The way Tony Romo approached practices inside the Alamodome, the offense had little time to breathe between plays.

There were numerous times when Romo was ready to run the next play before one, two or all three wide receivers made it back to the huddle. In one practice, the first-team offense broke the huddle an average of 16 seconds after the ball was placed.

The idea is to create a fast-paced tempo to keep the offense sharp and the defense on its heels.

"We're not going to be reactive," Romo said. "We're going to be proactive and we're going to try to push the envelope with our tempo, with our discipline and with our consistency in what we try to do on every play."
