Jahvid Best said his sprained toe had no impact on his performance, but he's had better days.
He fumbled, slipped and fell on a pass route that resulted in an interception and had 50 yards in 12 carries, three fewer than quarterback Shaun Hill.
"We made a couple of mistakes," Best said. "I had a fumble, I slipped, those are things right there that I can do better myself. We have to keep getting better every week. When we're rolling I think we have one of the best offenses in the league."
"It's just self-inflicted wounds that are killing us."
Schwartz said he plans to use Kevin Smith more to help keep Best fresh.
"Jahvid isn't a 40-carry guy," Schwartz said.
Smith carried three times for 12 yards.
