Dolphins left tackle Jake Long's shoulder is improving.
Long said the rest he’s gotten since Thursday night’s game has helped his troublesome left shoulder heal. He’s practicing with a harness on it, and hasn’t had his participating limited this week, which is a step in the right direction heading into Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders.
“Every single day I’m working hard and getting a lot of treatment and getting back out there,” said Long , the No. 1 pick in the 2008 draft.
Long intends to finish the season with a serious left shoulder injury that will likely require a surgical procedure. He had the worst performance of his three-year career in last week’s 16-0 loss to the Chicago Bears, giving up three sacks to Pro Bowl defensive end Julius Peppers.
