Jets gauging trade interest in Thomas Jones

Bolstered by the addition of rookie Shonn Greene, the New York Jets are gauging trade interest in running back Thomas Jones and have placed a call to an NFC West club, a league source said.

The last time Jones was unhappy with his contract, he worked his way out of Chicago to get a new deal with the Jets. Now, Jones is seeking a new contract after leading the AFC in rushing last season with 1,312 yards and producing a career-high 13 touchdowns.
