New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold returned Sunday after missing a month with a foot injury. His return was almost short-lived.
Darnold limped into the locker room with another foot injury after one series against the Buffalo Bills at New Era Field. Darnold didn't attempt a pass and had one carry for 9 yards on New York's first possession. Josh McCown, who had started the last three games in Darnold's absence, replaced the rookie quarterback for a series.
Darnold was originally ruled as questionable but returned under center at the end of the first quarter. The Jets wouldn't confirm if it was the same foot he injured earlier this season against the Miami Dolphins.
