Raiders want to reestablish Josh Jacobs, running game

The Las Vegas Raiders plan to reestablish the run game, according to Tashan Reed of The Athletic. “To be honest with you, we’d like to stay with it, stay with the run opportunities,” offensive coordinator Greg Olson said Thursday. “We have to be efficient within our possessions. We have to stay within our game plan. And score dictates that sometimes."

“There’s always going to be a heavy run emphasis for us. It’s more of staying on track, being able to stay on track in terms of the down and distance. That’s a big emphasis for us on the sidelines and during the week is making sure that we stay on track so we can mix in the runs with the play action and the movement.”

Fantasy Impact:

Good idea in practice, but if the Kansas City Chiefs get up two touchdowns in five minutes, the run game has less of a chance to be established. That said, the Raiders need an effective Jacobs. It is also clear that opposing defenses know where the Raiders offense's bread is buttered. Jacobs is a must-start in fantasy and will have more than enough targets and touches to justify his RB1 ranking in Week 5.
