If Robinson misses Week 8, teammates Anthony Miller and Darnell Mooney would see a boost in usage at receiver. His absence would likely open up additional opportunities for tight ends Jimmy Graham and Cole Kmet as well.

A situation involving the Chicago Bears and star wide receiver Allen Robinson has escalated quickly. According to The Chicago Tribune, the former second-round selection by the Jaguars has requested a trade. Earlier in the day, social media was quick to notice that something was different with Robinson's social media channels as the wide receiver has apparently decided to scrub any reference of the Bears. On Twitter, Robinson removed a cartoon cover photo of himself in his Bears uniform and simply described himself as a "Pro Bowl wide receiver" instead of a "Pro Bowl receiver of the Chicago Bears," which was originally there prior to Tuesday. On Instagram, Robinson has removed all the photos of himself in a Bears uniform.

This move takes on greater meaning when paired with Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network's report on Tuesday afternoon that it's a reflection of where things stand between Robinson and the Bears in contract talks. Pelissero reports that Robinson -- who is in the midst of the final year of his contract -- has grown frustrated with contract talks with Chicago and feels like he has been disrespected with the offers that have been put on the table, the story said.

The Bears could use Ted Ginn's speed after cutting ties with Taylor Gabriel earlier this offseason. Aside from Allen Robinson, Chicago's wide receiver room is full of what-ifs and maybes. Anthony Miller might evolve into an exceptional playmaker this season, or he could continue his pattern of inconsistent and frustrating play.

Even those who follow the Bears don't expect him to light up the scoreboard, as the story put it, but it seems the Bears are hoping the threat of Ginn's speed can open up space for Robinson and new TE Jimmy Graham.

Allen Robinson has a chance to come close to career highs across the board in 2020, especially if Nick Foles wins the starting job in training camp. With no other established target in the Bears' passing game, it isn't outside the realm of possibility for A-Rob to eclipse 1,400 receiving yards (the career watermark that he set with the Jaguars in 2015), and come close to the 14 touchdowns he scored that season too.

The story pointed out Robinson has played with some very average QBs in his career, including Blake Bortles, Mitchell Trubisky, Chase Daniel and Chad Henne, so Foles presents an upgrade. Robinson was the No. 7 fantasy receiver last season, and that was with Trubisky’s scattershot accuracy. He was sixth in WR targets and 13th in receiving yards. His stock has risen in recent weeks and now he’s going off the board as a fringe WR1 in the third or fourth round. He’s fair value in the third and a steal in the fourth.

Robinson is still far and away the Bears top receiver, and is expected to form a special connection with Nick Foles (should he win the job). Robinson should be able to maintain or exceed the 27% target share he saw last season regardless of who lines up under center. If Foles wins the job, he will see a rise in his average depth of target, something that could lead to an even more explosive season for last year's number 11 overall fantasy receiver.
