Giants WR Sterling Shepard cleared concussion protocol Friday and could play Monday against the Cowboys.

A huge boost for the Giants offense and finally the pair of Shepard and Golden Tate can really get going together. This also helps Daniel Jones, who has already had some fine games even without Shepard, but having both really makes him an intriguing streaming option each week, especially in a divisional showdown against Dallas.

Giants WR Sterling Shepard will miss Sunday’s game against the Lions as he continues to deal with a concussion.

Shepard has not played since Week 5, when he suffered his second concussion of the season. But Shepard is on track to return in Week 9 when the Giants have a Monday night game against the Cowboys. For Week 8, Golden Tate will continue to lead the charge and the offense likely is getting Saquon Barkley back as well, which will boost Daniel Jones a tad.

"Strong possibility" that WR Sterling Shepard (concussion) remains sidelined this week vs. Lions, per coach Pat Shurmur. That is based on what he knows today, but don't expect that to change.

Sterling Shepard suffered two concussions in four weeks making a quick return unlikely. While he is out Darius Slayton and Golden Tate will continue to see a bump in usage.

Sterling Shepard has no doubt that he will play again this season for the Giants despite being in concussion protocol for the second time earlier this month.

"Oh, I'll be back out on the field," Shepard told NorthJersey.com and USA TODAY Network Northeast. "It's just whether it's gonna be this week or next week."

Shepard remains in concussion protocol, but he returned to practice as a non-contact participant last week. He has missed the Giants' last two games against New England and Minnesota, and his availability for Sunday's game against the Lions in Detroit remains uncertain. According to the author, Shepard is going to listen to doctors, and his body and keep his family in mind. Reports soon after his concussion said it could take a while for him to be back.
