The Panthers are hoping CMC returns before Week 7, as an IR spot would have taken him out for three games - Weeks 4-6. Other reports conclude CMC suffered a grade 1 strain, which is best-case for an earlier return. McCaffrey seems unlikely to play in Week 4 but his status should be monitored. Hubbard would get the start if McCaffrey can't go.

Bears’ HC Matt Nagy told reporters today that all three QBs - Justin Fields, Nick Foles and Andy Dalton - are under consideration to start in Week 4 against the Lions.

Fields was a big disappointment in Week 3 and struggled to really get any kind of offense going. It's quite possible if Dalton is healthy the team will go back to him, as that's what they've said all along. Some who follow the team felt Fields just wasn't ready to start in the NFL. For those in deeper leagues or multi-QB leagues, it's a situation to monitor.

Last week, Panthers coach Matt Rhule called TE Tommy Tremble, "this year’s Jeremy Chinn.” In what looks like a really strong Carolina draft, Tremble is standing out. Now, more time to shine with Dan Arnold headed to Jacksonville.

Tremble had a rushing TD and also caught one pass for 30 yards Thursday night. Arnold, headed to Jacksonville as part of a trade for CB C.J. Henderson from the Jags, caught 2-23-0 on Thursday night, but the trade now clears more of a path for Tremble to be a factor. In Jacksonville, Rapoport said Arnold could become a top target for QB Trevor Lawrence and the Jags were interested in Arnold in the offseason during free agency.

There are three possibilities with Justin Fields. 1. The Bears overrated him in their evaluations. 2. He’s not ready for the NFL. 3. The Bears are falling to sufficiently support him. A combination of at least two of the possibilities is undeniable.

The story said we didn’t learn much about Fields, other than he’s not able to overcome disaster all around him and that the Bears aren't a good team. Fields is dealing with a hand injury but the story pointed out the bigger concern is Fields state of mind at this point. Based on all of this, it's entirely possible the team does go back to Dalton when he's healthy.

While the prospect of Justin Fields starting is what fantasy players and Bears fans have wanted, the Cleveland Browns defense is great and the Bears offensive line is not. Fields had a few rookie moments Week 2 in relief of Dalton but a full week of reps with the first team offense should help ease him into the game.

No final decision, but Fields appears to be in line to make his first NFL start Sunday at Cleveland, according to the story. The Bears have said all along if Dalton is healthy he would start, but it may be tough for them to take Fields out of the lineup if the rookie gets his chance this week, which is looking more and more likely according to reports.

In the hours since the Chicago Bears' 20-17 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, head coach Matt Nagy declined multiple times to clarify whether veteran Andy Dalton (left knee) would remain the team's starting quarterback if healthy.

However, five minutes after Nagy's Monday morning's news conference concluded, where Nagy cited "scheme" as the reason he could not divulge whether Dalton would remain the starting quarterback over rookie Justin Fields, the Bears sent a team official into the media room to announce that Dalton is, in fact, still the Bears' starting quarterback, health permitting.

The news makes sense, and if Dalton can go in Week 3, he'll be the starter. What would be the bigger question is if Fields has to play Week 3, would the team go back to Dalton when healthy? That may be tougher to justify, so this story could only be beginning to heat up.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, when the Bears did manual tests on Dalton’s knee, it looked to be “strong and sound.” Following Sunday’s game, head coach Matt Nagy said he was “pretty sure” Dalton didn’t suffer a serious ACL injury.
