MRI revealed that Packers’ RB Aaron Jones has “a mild” MCL sprain and he is expected to be out 1-2 weeks, per source.

This updates a story we had earlier today. As we stated before, the team has always been cautious with Jones, so IR isn't out of the question. But, the Packers have a Week 13 bye, so things do seem to add up for the team to possibly sit Jones two weeks and then an extra week over the bye. As The Athletic story we posted said, the team is very comfortable with Dillon as the RB1, so that could also play into the team's timeline with Jones.

Days like Sunday, though, show why the Packers drafted A.J. Dillon so high and why, whether it’s for the next couple weeks or at any point in the future, the Packers should be just fine were they to lean on Dillon as the feature back.

Jones is said to have suffered a sprained MCL, which could keep him out a couple of weeks. The story said after the injury, Jones had tears in his eyes and was looking for his family in the stands. The Packers have always seemed to use caution with Jones so perhaps an IR stint will happen. The team didn't update Jones' status after the game but we'll likely hear something soon. It appears Dillon will be in store for a much bigger workload at least for the short term, and as the story said, Dillon's improvement in the passing game should mean a smooth transition for the offense.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers will miss Week 9 at the Kansas City Chiefs because of COVID-19. Jordan Love is expected to start in his place.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs is out for the rest of today’s game against the Eagles with a chest injury.

Jacobs finished with six carries for 29 yards and a touchdown. Fortunately for the Raiders, the rest of their offense has been playing very well as well as they are dominating the Eagles. Also fortunately for Jacobs, the Raiders are off next week, giving him some extra rest time before the team returns November 7 against the Giants.

LaFleur said he left the stadium yesterday wishing he had given the ball to RB A.J. Dillon more than 12 times. He said his receiving talent has been evident and they feel confident in his skills in that aspect of the game.

Dillon ran eight times for 30 yards and caught four balls for 49 yards and a TD. Jones caught four balls as well but for just six yards. He did run 14 times for 103 yards, however. It's no secret the Packers want to limit Jones' touches, at least at times, to keep him healthy for the long season, but this could be a sign of more work to come for Dillon. Any more touches could mean this is more of a split backfield, however.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (ankle) was limited Wednesday according to Chris Emma of 670 The Score in Chicago.

With Peyton Barber likely out for a few weeks, Jacobs's health and availability are vital to the Raiders running game.

Josh Jacobs returned to the practice field on Thursday and now has a very good chance to play this Sunday. If he can get in a full practice by tomorrow, he could be ready for his normal complement of snaps. However, a limited tag on Friday could suggest that Jacobs will see a reduced workload in Week 4. The Raiders backfield may be a bit of a mess against the Chargers but have a plus matchup overall. Jacobs is currently our 32nd ranked running back for Week 4.

Las Vegas’ next matchup will be on Monday Night Football in Week 4 against the Chargers, and they may have Josh Jacobs available for it.

“I met with Josh this morning,” head coach Jon Gruden said in his Monday press conference. “We’re going to see how he feels on the practice field this week. I’m not making any predictions, but we’re hopeful that we can get him back on the grass at some point this week.”

The 2019 first-round pick hasn’t practiced since Week 1, missing the last two games with an ankle injury. Jacobs was apparently closer to playing in Week 3 than he was in Week 2, as he was listed as doubtful instead of out for the matchup with Miami, the story said. Barber racked up over 100 yards on the ground in Week 3.

Raiders HC Jon Gruden told reporters Friday that RB Josh Jacobs is dountful Week 3 against the Dolphins.

Look for Kenyan Drake and Peyton Barber to share the workload if Jacobs is officially out.
