According to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com, tight end Vernon Davis missed the last 10 minutes of the game and was on crutches in the locker room with an ankle injury.
Davis came up hobbling after a hit by Bears linebacker Jon Bostic, in which is foot was caught underneath him. On the next play, Colin Kaepernick was picked off throwing to third-string tight end Derek Carrier. Backup Vance McDonald hurt his knee in the first half and was limited in the second half.
The story went on to say that 49ers coach John Harbaugh was asked about the condition of his Pro Bowl tight end but all he said was he didn't talk to Davis after the game. Obviously there will be tests today to determine his status, including a possible MRI. It wasn't a good night for 49er TEs as backup Vance McDonald was limited by a first-half knee injury. Third stringer Derek Carrier was forced into action as a result.
