Chargers claim RB Andre Williams

Andre Williams is heading to San Diego.

The now-former Giants running back was claimed off waivers by the Chargers on Sunday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

San Diego has the No. 3 in the NFL waiver claim order, and early reports indicated at least one more team - the Detroit Lions - also placed a claim for Williams.

Fantasy Impact:

It's a nice fit for Williams as the Chargers lost their RB3 in Branden Oliver for the year. Williams will back up Melvin Gordon with Danny Woodhead remaining the pass-catching option.

Teven Jenkins will be limited.

This is definitely a situation to keep an eye on, as Johnson would have a huge workload if Swift were to miss Week 12. Homer has three rush attempts and zero targets on the year.
