Jaguars rookie tight end Zachary Miller's statistics (10 catches, 125 yards) don't jump out at people. But it might be only a matter of time before they do.

A sixth-round pick and former college quarterback at Nebraska-Omaha, Miller caught three passes for 76 yards against Houston last week, including a 62-yarder, the longest reception by a tight end in franchise history. Because of Miller's athleticism, Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio said the club installed plays earlier this season designed to put the ball in Miller's hands.

Miller thinks the team is finally calling upon those plays because of increased comfort in his familiarity with the offense.

"I'm excited about the opportunity," Miller said. "Hopefully, they're seeing that I'm getting better. It's been difficult, but fun. Coming from being a Division II quarterback to NFL tight has been way more intense and way more physical than I had been used to. But I think I'm getting better day by day."
