Hines Ward will try to hit the field against Browns

Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward said today on his Facebook page that he is going to try to play tonight against the Browns.

Ward is nursing a minor hamstring pull, and he practiced Wednesday on a limited basis.

"I'm going to give it a shot and see what happens," Ward wrote on his Facebook page. "There is no tomorrow."

Ward indicated that he will test the hamstring during warm-ups before deciding if he is healthy enough to play in the must-win game for the Steelers. The cold weather could compromise his attempt to come back from the injury he sustained near the end of the Steelers' 27-24 loss to the Raiders last Sunday.

Per Bears head coach Matt Eberflus: Ryan Bates remains in the concussion protocol. Elijah Hicks (ankle) and D'Andre Swift (groin) won't practice.

Teven Jenkins will be limited.

This is definitely a situation to keep an eye on, as Johnson would have a huge workload if Swift were to miss Week 12. Homer has three rush attempts and zero targets on the year.
