FanDuel Week 10 Cash Game Breakdown
The Week 10 cash game slate is shaping up similarly to last week, where it made sense to pay up at RB and save at TE. There are quite a few options at each position this week, but the roster construction I’m currently favoring allows you to fit both of the top two projected RBs and the top projected WR, kicker, and defense, along with a top-four QB. At the high end of the salary spectrum, there are quite a few price drops to exploit. Be sure to check out the FanDuel cash game guidelines for more insight into choosing your plays.
QB Cam Newton $7,800 vs. KC
There isn’t a slam-dunk QB play on this week’s slate, so it makes sense to roster Newton, a home favorite with a sizeable rushing floor, at a salary that is $1,500 less than it was five weeks ago and hasn’t been lower since Week 2 of 2015. Since the start of last season, Cam has fared much better at home, averaging 295.1 total yards, 2.8 total TDs, and 8.72 yards per pass attempt in Carolina compared to 263.5 total yards, 2.2 total TDs, and 6.71 yards in enemy quarters.
Thursday Update: It looks like Panthers left tackle Michael Oher (concussion) will miss another game, and the status of centers Ryan Kalil (shoulder) and Gino Gradkowski (knee) are in doubt, which would leave Carolina down to their third-strong center, Chris Scott. Given these developments coupled with the likelihood that Kansas City limit's Greg Olsen, I now believe Ben Roethlisberger ($7,700) to be the better choice at QB. Below is the blurb for Roethlisberger that will appeak in tomorrow's DraftKings GPP breakdown:
Since 2014, Big Ben averages 342.4 yards and 2.94 TDs per game passing, compared to just 280.2 yards and 1.06 TDs on the road. He is a home favorite with an implied total above 26 going against an unimposing Cowboys defense (17th in QB aFPA) that will be without two key members of their secondary in cornerback Morris Claiborne and safety Barry Church.
RB David Johnson $9,400 vs. SF
Johnson leads all RBs in FanDuel points per game (21.84) and will face the defense allowing the most FanDuel points per game to opposing RBs (31.4) by nearly four points over the second-worst ballclub. The 49ers have allowed 170+ rushing yards in five straight games and are allowing 5.47 yard per carries to RBs on the season. Johnson also has the benefit of being a home favorite with a huge spread (opened -11.5). Not even Hillary Clinton could blow it against the 49ers run defense.
