The Dolphins plan to sign veteran quarterback T.J. Yates to serve as the backup to Matt Moore, according to an ESPN report, apparently bypassing rookie quarterback Brandon Doughty for the second-team role.
A tweet from ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the Dolphins will soon sign Yates, who tore his ACL (anterior cruicate ligament) last December while playing for Houston.
Fantasy Impact:
Yates, a five-year veteran who hasn’t played since his injury, made two starts and four appearances for the Texans in 2015. He ended the season 28 of 57 for 370 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. He had a passer rating of 80.3.
