Eric Branch reports 49ers' coach Kyle Shanahan declared Marquise Goodwin (quad) a game-time decision for Week 3.
It has been a frustrating year for Goodwin and his owners. The frustration may continue if he can't play in a cherry Week 3 matchup against a beleaguered Chiefs pass defense. Should the speedster see the field, he is a WR3 with a massive ceiling. The current total for the game sits at 55 points, which is the largest number of any game this week. A shootout is in order, so even if Goodwin doesn't suit up, there is value to be had among 49ers pass-catchers. Pierre Garcon would see a solid bump, perhaps to low-end WR2 status. Tight end George Kittle, already a top-10 option this week, would likely benefit from a higher target floor. Beyond those two, it gets sketchy, with Goodwin's backup Dante Pettis the most likely beneficiary. He has done little in Goodwin's stead thus far, but there would be worse WR4/WR5 dart throws this week.
