IDP Matchups & Sleepers: Week 12
Each week, I'm going to go through our IDP rankings and look at some of the top matchups and sleeper picks for the week at each position. My IDP brother-in-arms, Ross Miles, will have your IDP waiver wire covered. If you have specific questions pertaining to your lineup, you can always refer to the ranks or hit me up on Twitter @Mike_Woellert.
Now, let's see what Week 12 has in store for us.
Linebacker
Nate Gerry, ILB, Philadelphia Eagles vs. Seattle Seahawks
Gerry has been a serviceable IDP player this season and has proven to be more productive and efficient. He has a nice matchup with the Seahawks this week, a team who'll run Chris Carson 20-plus times. He's recorded 31 tackles over the last four games and faces a Seahawks offense that's favorable to opposing linebackers. Opposing ILBs have been averaging 13 tackles per game against Seattle and Gerry is capable of taking advantage of Carson's fumbling issues.
Roquan Smith, ILB, Chicago Bears vs. New York Giants
We saw the elite Roquan last week and he has another favorable matchup this week, so fire up the LB1 again. He's recorded 10 or more tackles in three straight games, and I'm looking at a fourth this week. He's going to be busy tackling Saquon Barkley as Chicago's only three-down LB. Opposing 3-4 ILBs are averaging nearly nine tackles per game against the Giants, so I think Smith has the upside for another double-digit tackle game.
Demario Davis, ILB, New Orleans Saints vs. Carolina Panthers
Demario finds himself in a great spot this week against Carolina. He's going to get his fill of Christian McCaffery this week. Davis is recording, an efficient, 11.2% tackle rate this season - resulting in 69 tackles. McCaffery is getting the ball everywhere and Carolina's offense is allowing 17 tackles per game to opposing ILBs. 4-3 MLBs are seeing success, as well - averaging just over nine tackles per game.
Neville Hewitt, ILB, New York Jets vs. Oakland Raiders
Hewitt saw his first action since mid-October and appeared in every snap. He recorded five tackles and added a big INT. Up until the injury, he was recording a 10.3% tackle rate, so he'll have a chance to improve upon that against Josh Jacobs and the Raiders. The Raiders are allowing the eighth-most points to the LB position, while also giving up 16 tackles per game to opposing ILBs.
Sleeper
Najae Goode, OLB, Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Tennessee Titans
Myles Jack has been up and down all season, and Goode came in played well alongside Jack in Week 11. He'll face a Titans team that should look to establish the run with Derrick Henry. The Titans offense is allowing nearly nine tackles per game to opposing OLBs, so he could see plenty of Henry and Dion Lewis this week.
