Streaming Tight Ends: Week 13 Targets

The tight end wasteland we have come to expect this season continues to roll along, despite our individual needs for fantasy playoff berths. At least we are done with bye weeks, so there’s that.

As a strategy, streaming aims to find players with above-average matchups, which can hopefully translate to TE1 production for your fantasy squad.

For streaming purposes, 4for4’s Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed (aFPA) is a metric we rely heavily on to determine weekly matchup strength. As the season continues to progress and more data is available, aFPA becomes more and more reliable, using rolling 10-week data. Targets and efficiency metrics are also considered when choosing weekly streamers.

My top two recommendations were my streaming stars in Week 12, as Ryan Griffin and Dallas Goedert checked in at TE7 and TE10, with 10.3 and 8.2 PPR points, respectively. Our goal in all this is starting tight end results and after 12 weeks, 4for4’s optimal streamer has scored 167 PPR points, which equates to TE2 numbers on the season.

Jack Doyle (Colts) vs. Titans

As a whole, Doyle’s season has been pretty vanilla. He has been a decent streamer at times, though, and currently sits as the fantasy TE18 after 11 contests. Not only does he have a favorable matchup in Week 13, but his compadre Eric Ebron is being placed on Injured Reserve, opening a door for Doyle the remainder of the season.

The 29-year-old Doyle is looking at a Tennessee defense this week ranked 26th in tight end aFPA and who are surrendering 13.2 PPR points to the position weekly. This sets up for a nice week for Doyle and at just 33% rostership on Yahoo!, now is the chance to grab him for the remainder of the season.
