Tacoma News: For much of the season, when Julius Jones and Maurice Morris were both healthy, they shared the HB duties for the
Seahawks. Sunday, the carries were dominated by Jones, and his
big 2nd-half production helped the Seahawks climb back into the
game before falling to the Dolphins, 21-19. "We started really
slow, but in the 2nd half, we came out and got into a little bit
of a rhythm," said Jones, who picked up 73 of his 88 rushing yards
in the 2nd half. "The offensive line blocked well and we were
running the ball downhill, which is what we do best." Jones had 16
carries compared to one for Morris, although Morris picked up 11
yards on his sole attempt. HC Holmgren said the preponderance of
carries by Jones was a function of the kinds of running plays that
were on the ready-sheet for the game, and the fact that a rib
injury to back Leonard Weaver caused them to adjust their
approach.
