Sunday Night DFS Single Game Breakdown: Cowboys at Vikings

Coming off a bye week for both of these teams should have been a chance for them to shake off some bruises, but the Dak Prescott injury will swing the entire slate. There has been a ton of mixed news on the situation, but Vegas anticipates Prescott will not be active, so I will write it that way and make changes if necessary.

The Vikings have recently turned things around defensively from the poor start. That has been a credit to the Anthony Barr getting healthy, Everson Griffin coming back, and the amount of pressure they have gotten in recent weeks. The Vikings haven't allowed more than 17 points since Week 2, have held every team to under 200 yards passing in their last three games, and lead the league with 3.5 sacks per game. The problem with this defense is the run game, as they have given up 4.8 yards per carry, and that will need to be fixed if they want to stop the Cowboys' offense. This will also be their first game without Patrick Peterson, which will shift the dynamics around, but they have had two weeks to prepare and are going up against a team that might be starting a backup quarterback.

The Cowboys starting a backup quarterback is not the best of situations, but the defense is where I would like to start until there is more clarity. The Cowboys are one of three teams to allow five wide receivers to go for over 100 yards and have three games where a wide receiver got eight or more catches. However, the Cowboys' strong point has been against running backs, and that is where I can see a way to get unique.
