Fantasy Football Week 6 Recap: 11 Things You Need To Know
Well, it happens at least once per year. The NFL serves us up a clunker. Week 6 was that week. Eight of the games on the Sunday docket failed to reach the over/under set in the desert. When scoring is down, naturally fantasy scoring is too. This week had very few bonafide performers and a number of disappointments. Let’s jump right in.
Bright Stars
Joe Burrow brought the Bengals back to life. His return to Louisiana went about as well as Burrow could have hoped. He posted his best fantasy performance of the year. In addition to throwing for 300 yards and three touchdowns, Burrow also rushed for a score for the second consecutive week.
Rhamondre Stevenson hauled the water for the Patriots in the running game. Carrying 19 times, Stevenson racked up 76 yards on the ground and scored two touchdowns. He added four receptions for 15 yards, as New England cruised past Cleveland.
Stefon Diggs created another masterpiece on Sunday. Matching his season high with 148 yards receiving, Diggs led the Bills to a victory in one of the most anticipated matchups of the season to date. It was the fourth time this year that Diggs has seen double-digit targets and the fourth time he topped 100 yards receiving in his first six games.
Tyreek Hill is quarterback-proof. Skylar Thompson made his first start before giving way to Teddy Bridgewater following a thumb injury. Despite playing with three different quarterbacks this season, Hill has caught at least seven passes in five out of six games. Facing Minnesota on Sunday, Hill caught his season-high 12 receptions.
Dim Stars
Tom Brady is in the dumps. Amid the turmoil in his personal life, Brady is struggling professionally, as well. In a loss at Pittsburgh, Brady managed just a single touchdown pass for the fifth time this year. It has been a thoroughly underwhelming year for a player who is typically a high-level fantasy scorer.
Jeff Wilson Jr. disappointed fantasy managers on Sunday. Turning in his worst fantasy outing of the year, Wilson managed only 25 yards on seven carries. To top it off, Wilson lost a fumble that Atlanta returned for a touchdown. His dominant role in the backfield may be in jeopardy.

Aaron Jones was limited against the New York Jets. In a game where the entire Packer offense was ineffective, Jones saw just nine carries for 19 yards. Despite adding three receptions for 25 yards, Jones turned in a lackluster fantasy performance. His 2.1 yards per carry represents a season-low.
Rising Stars?
Mike Gesicki emerged in Miami’s loss to the Vikings. He found the end zone twice and caught six of seven targets for 69 yards. Gesicki earned double-digit fantasy points in PPR scoring for just the second time this year.
Kenneth Walker was everything fantasy managers hoped for. He made his first start following a season-ending injury to Rashaad Penny. Walker carried the ball 21 times compiling 97 yards. He added two catches for 13 yards and a rushing touchdown, earning a top-10 running back finish on the week.
Chase Claypool is becoming a larger part of the offense. He caught all of his even targets on Sunday, converting them into 96 yards and a score. Over the past two games, Claypool has seen 16 targets. He saw just 18 in the first four games combined.
Injury Concerns
Marquise Brown left the game with a lower leg injury. After catching five passes for 98 yards, Brown was helped off the field in Seattle on Sunday. Spotted in a walking boot following the game, Brown told reporters that x-rays were negative. He is reportedly dealing with a high ankle sprain that could sideline him for multiple weeks.
Cardinals’ WR Marquise Brown, who left Sunday’s game with a foot injury, was spotted after the game in a walking boot. He told reporters that initial X-rays were negative and he will undergo further testing Monday.
