Wouldn’t it be just the Lions’ luck to get receiver Nate Burleson back but lose tight end Tony Scheffler? “I am not out yet,” Scheffler said. “We will know by (today).”

Scheffler suffered a concussion last week against the Packers but played the entire game and caught six passes.

“He felt good on Monday, but on Tuesday started to get dizzy and headaches and it’s stayed the same,” Lions coach Jim Schwartz said. “He doesn’t have real severe symptoms but exercising tends to make those worse, so we just shut him down for a couple of days.”

Scheffler will have to pass a battery of tests and be completely symptom-free before he can be cleared. Will Heller would step in as the second tight end if Scheffler can’t go.
