Houston’s front office hid their affection for 21-year-old Buckeyes QB C.J. Stroud throughout the draft process, throwing everyone from local legend John McClain to Panthers GM Scott Fitterer off their scent. (Some of us weren’t fooled. #ShoutoutToMe)
Arguably the most pro-ready quarterback in his class, Stroud (6-foot-3/214 pounds) led his peers in completion rate on throws to both the intermediate (10-19 yards, 65%) and deep (20-plus, 51%) levels of the field with a career 9.8 yards per attempt and FBS-high 41 passing touchdowns in his final year.
