Flex
Despite the Week 8 Millionaire winner using a wide receiver in the flex, top-1% lineups had the greatest edge with two-tight end builds, doing so 25% of the time, compared to 18% for the field. It was the second time in as many weeks, and the second time all year, that top lineups flexed a tight end more than the field.
Leverage/Unique Builds
Tony Pollard ended up in just 9% of Millionaire lineups but was projected as one of the chalkier running backs on the slate. Had he been owned as expected, double-stacking Dak Prescot made one of the better leverage plays on the slate. No wide receiver below $4,000 carried a double-digit ownership projection, so rostering Michael Gallup led to a unique lineup, overcoming his low score.
The Titans were coming out of their bye with a change at quarterback so there was some hope that the offense may look different in Week 8. Obviously projecting DeAndre Hopkins for three touchdowns was impossible but he did serve as a salary pivot off of Zay Jones, one of two wide receivers in at least 21% of lineups. Four other wide receivers in Hopkins’ salary range projected for double-digit ownership, as well. Going into the week, only two teams had given up more touchdowns on passes of 15+ air yards than the Falcons.

Leverage/Unique Builds
On last week’s DFS MVP podcast, Pat Kerrane noted that the Broncos could carry out a run-heavy game plan against the Chiefs and that such a strategy might benefit Javonte Williams, whose work had been trending up in recent weeks. Once it was reported that Patrick Mahomes was dealing with an illness, pairing Williams with the Broncos' min-salary defense made sense as a contrarian correlation in large-field contests and leverage off a 24%-owned Isiah Pacheco on the other side.
