Week 17 IDP Waiver Wire: Pickups & Targets (Fantasy Football 2023)

For most of you, hopefully, Week 17 means championship week. For others, it's your semi-final week. No matter what week it is for you, I have your IDP waiver wire targets.

We endured a few key injuries in Week 16, so here are my targets for your Week 17 IDP waiver wire acquisitions.

Linebacker

Myles Jack, LB, Pittsburgh Steelers

Another LB casualty in Week 16. Elandon Roberts suffered a pectoral injury that looks to be season-ending. So, let’s climb into our time machine back to 2017.

Myles Jack is back in our lives. Jack was elevated from the practice squad ahead of Week 16, but it wasn’t clear what his usage would be. Seventeen snaps in, we got our answer. When Roberts went out, Jack took over his role and was on the field for 100% of the snaps and ended up wearing the dot as the defensive signal-caller.

Although Jack looked a bit rusty, he seemed to be in the middle of the action and stuck his nose in plays. Jack had three blitzes and converted one into a sack and added a QB hit. He did struggle a bit with run defense, as he missed on two tackles.

Here, Jack recognizes the open gap and gets past the blocker to get the sack:

He produced a 12.8% tackle rate resulting in six sacks and 0.28 fantasy points per snap. Myles Jack could play a role in fantasy championships this week.
