Guillotine League Week 17 Waiver Wire and Best Starts

If you are in the finals of one or more guillotine leagues, a big ol’ congrats is definitely in order. Making it to the end is not an easy feat as anything can happen any given week.

This is the last week for this specific waiver and start advice column, but I will be back in Week 18 with a primer on all of the new and fun post-season contests they have at guillotineleagues.com.

It’s not likely you’ll be adding very many players since we haven’t been able to get any chopped guys since Week 14, but here are some who may be of service in Week 17.

Week 17 Waiver Adds

Jerome Ford, RB - Browns (7.4% rostered)

Rinse and repeat from last week, if you have any FAAB left Jerome Ford is your guy. With Nick Chubb out for the rest of the season with a broken foot, Ford resumed the lead-back volume he had at the start of 2024. He had 16 touches which he turned into 131 total yards and a score in Week 16. Miami isn’t the softest opponent but if you need a flex player he could be of assistance this week.

Ameer Abdullah & Alexander Mattison, RB - Buccaneers (0.1% & 1.2% rostered)

This backfield has turned into a committee but a productive one for both RBs. Alexander Mattison led with 16 touches totalling 56 yards and a touchdown, while Ameer Abdullah’s 85 yards from scrimmage and a score on 12 touches were also notable. They get New Orleans this week who just allowed plenty of RB points last night in Green Bay.

Jalen McMillan, WR - Buccaneers (0.5% rostered)

He’s now found the end zone four times in the last three games and has emerged as the clear WR2 behind Mike Evans in Tampa Bay. The Panthers have allowed the most passing TDs this year (28) with 15 of those to the WR position. He could help you this week if you’re in need of a WR.

Best Week 17 Matchups

I’m not including QBs or TEs since you are likely starting who you’re starting with little choice or variety there. All numbers in parentheses are schedule-adjusted fantasy points or aFPA against that position.
