Lions QB Daunte Culpepper suffered a shoulder injury late in
Sunday's 20-16 loss to Minnesota. With the Lions starting a series
at their 29-yard line and with 16 seconds left to make something
happen, Culpepper tried to heave a desperation pass downfield. But
as his arm was coming forward, defensive end Ray Edwards caught
his right hand. "I was trying to chuck it down there about 70
yards," Culpepper said. "When the momentum of your body is going,
that muscle ..." Culpepper spiked the ball to stop the clock at 1
second, then came off the field holding his arm. Backup Drew Henson scrambled onto the field, put on his helmet and promptly
took a sack to end the game. "Right now it's just sore," Culpepper
said. "I'm going to look into it tomorrow and see how I feel when
I get up in the morning and go work out. But right now, it's
pretty sore."
