Oakland Raiders head coach Hue Jackson revealed to the media in his Sunday news conference that second-year wide receiver Jacoby Ford suffered a broken left hand and could be out a couple of weeks.
The Raiders are counting upon Ford to be one of their primary playmakers this season on the heels of his stellar rookie season last season.
Ford appeared to hurt his hand during practice Saturday. He was spotted with his left hand wrapped afterward but did not speak with the media.
Ford’s absence gives younger receivers more of an opportunity to press their case for inclusion on the 53-man roster.
Hopefully this is indeed a short-term injury, as Ford is the most intriguing wide receiver on the Oakland roster.
