Lions Running back Jahvid Best and defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch missed their third straight practice today for the Detroit Lions.
Coach Jim Schwartz said Best has been medically cleared to return from the concussion he suffered in Friday's 30-28 exhibition win over the Cleveland Browns and likely will resume practicing Wednesday. But he probably won't play Saturday against the New England Patriots.
"We’ll be in shorts tomorrow, so it’ll be a good chance for him to run and get his legs but not be hitting or get hit," Schwartz said.
Vanden Bosch has a "sore shoulder" from the Browns game and had a doctor's appointment today, Schwartz said, without providing further details. Vanden Bosch had neck surgery that cut short his 2010 season.
