Eagles HC Reid did his best to cure Eagles fans of their sudden
case of Celek fever. Reid did that on Monday, the day after Brent Celek starred in the Eagles' 26-7 victory over the Seattle
Seahawks. Reid was aware that Celek's big game, along with the
inconsistency of longtime starter L.J. Smith, has prompted fans to
call for Celek's promotion to the starting lineup. But the man who
will make that decision doesn't agree. According to Reid, Celek
had a good game (six receptions for 131 yards) because the
Seahawks' defense pretty much ignored the backup tight end, which
it wouldn't have done if Smith was manning the position. Smith
missed the game as he recovers from a concussion.
