Broncos RBs banged up

Broncos running backs Knowshon Moreno and Willis McGahee left the game against the Chiefs with injuries in the first quarter and Moreno is unlikely to play when Denver hosts the New York Jets on Thursday night.

Moreno, who had a spectacular, tackler-hurdling 24-yard run on the opening drive, suffered a sprained ligament in his right knee. Moreno will have an MRI exam Monday to determine if there's a tear, but the initial diagnosis was he will be sidelined for a while.

McGahee suffered a strained hamstring on his fourth carry of the Broncos' opening drive.

"I'll be all right," McGahee said. "I could have come back in in an emergency situation."

Fantasy Impact:

We'll have to see how McGahee progresses over the next few days, as a short week certainly won't help his situation. He'll have a decent matchup against the Jets who surprisingly are only in the middle of the pack against the run. Lance Ball had 30 carries last week and would be in line for perhaps a similar workload if McGahee can't play.
