49ers offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye reiterated that he plans to utilize Vernon Davis more as a receiver than a blocker.
"We would like to use him not as much in blocking in pass situations as we would running routes," said Raye. "So we would like to put him in positions where he is a matchup problem for the defense." Davis only saw 49 targets all year in Mike Martz's TE-unfriendly offense, hauling in 31 of them. Those numbers could double under Raye, making Davis one of our favorite tight end bargains.
