The Herald: After officially placing left tackle Walter Jones on
injured reserve Monday, the Seattle Seahawks added a fourth
quarterback to the active roster. Jeff Rowe, a second-year player
who was serving on the Bengals' practice squad, was signed to
Seattle's roster in what coach Mike Holmgren called a move for the
future. Holmgren said that the team signed Rowe from the Bengals'
practice squad so that the Seahawks would have an extra
quarterback heading into offseason minicamps. Holmgren added that
the move had nothing to do with the health of quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, who is expected to miss his eighth game due to a bad
back. Hasselbeck will be the No. 3 quarterback again this Sunday,
when the Seahawks host the Jets.
