Detroit News: Lions quarterback Jon Kitna underwent an MRI exam on
his sore back Wednesday afternoon, casting some doubt on his
ability to play Sunday at Minnesota. Kitna, who has started all 36
games for the Lions the last two-plus seasons, missed the second
half of last week's 34-7 loss to Chicago after suffering back
spasms. "He's still stoved up (stiff and sore) a little bit,"
coach Rod Marinelli said Wednesday after the Lions' first full
practice in preparation for the Vikings. Asked if he believed
Kitna, 36, would be able to play Sunday, Marinelli said, "I really
don't know. Honestly, it's just kind of a day-by-day thing. I
don't have a great feel yet. He's sore, though."
