Barring an unforeseen setback, outside Texans LB Brian Cushing could play in the Texans' third preseason game against Minnesota and should be 100% for the regular-season opener against the Jets.
Cushing, the first-round pick from USC, is out for two to three weeks with a sprained lateral collateral ligament in his left knee. The injury should not require surgery.
Cushing watched practice today while wearing a brace on his left knee. Coach Gary Kubiak said Cushing complained of soreness in his knee on Tuesday. He underwent an MRI that showed the sprain.
