The Panthers continue to take a cautious approach to running back Jonathan Stewart's sore Achilles tendon.

Stewart didn't practice for a second consecutive day Thursday at training camp at Wofford College. Tuesday, he was held out of drills involving contact.

Stewart didn't practice much last preseason while he recovered from a toe operation, stemming from an injury he suffered as a senior at Oregon.
Until Wednesday, he had been practicing on days when the Panthers had one session and missing the second practice on two-a-day days.

“Medically, they say it's best for him to rest, so he rests,” said coach John Fox. “I thought he played pretty well last year with some of that rest. I've said many times that while I prefer guys to be out there, we've had guys miss time and they've been fine.”
