Deangelo Williams isn’t worried about fellow RB Jonathan Stewart’s lingering Achilles injury and he doesn’t think fans should be either.

Although Stewart hasn’t practiced in a week and didn’t make the trip to East Rutherford, N.J., for the Carolina Panthers preseason opener, Williams said he’s extremely confident Stewart will be on the field when the regular season begins Sept. 13 against Philadelphia. The Carolina fan base is becoming a little nervous with Stewart still out despite missing all of the team’s off-season workouts (minicamp and OTAs).

“Worried? Why?,” Williams said. “What’s the difference between last year and this year? I think he played in like one, maybe two preseason games last year. It’s the regular season that we’re worried about. It doesn’t bother me at all. I know he’s going to be healthy and ready to go.”
