Tight end Joe Klopfenstein was among four St. Louis Rams players released Tuesday, as the team moved toward the mandatory roster limit of 75 players by this afternoon. Klopfenstein, 25, was a second-round draft pick by the team in 2006 - Scott Linehan’s first draft as Rams coach.

Also released by St. Louis on Tuesday were: Jarrett Byers, a wide receiver from Northeastern State; Marcus Brown, a cornerback from McNeese State; and Daniel Sanders, a center from Colorado. Byers and Sanders were undrafted rookies; Brown had the “first-year” player designation, having spent part of last season on Cincinnati’s practice squad.
