Marques Colston caught nine passes for 153 yards and a touchdown in a shootout loss to the Green Bay Packers last Sunday, and almost all of his catches came in traffic when he knew he’d have to absorb a big hit.
Quarterback Drew Brees connected with Colston for conversions on third-and-17 conversion and third-and-14 plays.
Clearly, Colston remains a go-to target in big situations despite his injury and despite the emergence of fellow go-to guy Jimmy Graham. Colston should be able to manage the pain of his injury all season, and he’s not the type of receiver who relies on pure speed or quickness anyway.
