Kevin Jones began Thursday night's final preseason game like somebody who knew he was on the bubble. After a few disappointing weeks, Jones showed that missing burst on a few early runs. Then, on his seventh and final carry, Jones landed awkwardly on his left ankle, jumping out of the bounds to avoid a tackler. He was carted off the sideline and was seen on crutches, wearing a walking boot after the game.
"It's tough, you hate to see it," said offensive coordinator Ron Turner. "I feel bad for him. You know he's come back from the other injury, he's had a good training camp, and I know he was looking forward to getting a chance to make some plays tonight. You hate to see it."

Adrian Peterson was expected to make the final 53-man roster before Jones got hurt -- now it's a slam dunk.
