Sunday’s season-worst performance - the Giants Eli Mann...

Sunday’s season-worst performance - the Giants Eli Manning passed for just 125 yards, his lowest total since 2008 - included the struggles of Victor Cruz (67 yards) and Hakeem Nicks (one catch) who are considered one of the best 1-2 punches in the NFL.

“Offensively, we just gotta get it going again,” Nicks said. “Personally I feel like we’ve been lacking a little bit on offense.”

It’s a slump that Nicks said he knew would happen. Last season was magical, with both receivers topping 1,000 yards and Eli Manning shattering Giants passing records. But eventually, Nicks said, defenses would adjust, and that’s what’s happening now.

“Once you’re excelling so much offensively, teams are going to start scheming to try to stop what you do,” Nicks said. “We just got to look at that film and start critiquing ourselves and start doing some things differently.”

Fantasy Impact:

Teams have been playing the Giant WRs more physical, and against the Steelers the Giants got a few different looks as well. Nicks also admitted the Giant WRs were "caught on their heels" a few times, "taken aback by the alignments of the Steelers secondary," according to the story. The NFL is a game of adjustments, so expect these guys to all bounce back. Cruz did take a hard hit, but said it was just the wind knocked out of him, and Nicks is likely still batting sore knees - so that could also be a factor.
