The news was less positive on receiver Kevin Walter (hamstring) and free safety Eugene Wilson (knee), who worked out separately from the team under the watchful eye of trainer Geoff Kaplan and again didn't participate in practice.
André Davis is expected to start for Walter and Dominique Barber for Wilson against the Jets.
But coach Gary Kubiak did say Walter is progressing and wouldn't yet rule him out for the opener, although he added, “I think it's going to be really close as to whether he's going to be ready to go. We'll probably work him out before the game.
“Kevin's a player who could play well without practicing. He's a sharp guy. He knows what we're doing. But we'll have to make a smart decision with him.”
