Speculation for the better part of a week has been that Josh Cribbs is not only on is way out of Cleveland, but that he is headed to the Arizona Cardinals. In fact, the Plain Dealer reporter on Sunday that Cribbs was headed to Arizona to take a physical and, “if all goes as Cribbs hopes, he’ll be a Cardinal by Monday the source said.”
ESPN Cleveland has learned from multiple sources that the delay in Cribbs signing is because he failed his physical with the Cardinals on Monday. It is unclear at this time what may have been the cause of the failed physical and if this will deter Arizona from signing the nine year NFL veteran.
Update: Mike Garafolo of USA Today has tweeted that Cribbs' agent JR Rickert said his client underwent surgery to repair meniscus after the season and it has not completely healed. He added that they expect for Arizona to give Cribbs another physical in a few weeks and possibly sign him then.
A torn meniscus is usually not a big deal. We're expecting Cribbs to pass his physical in the next month or so.
