Browns QB Brandon Weeden was under siege from the moment Joe Banner took over as CEO and brought along friend Mike Lombardi as his top football lieutenant.
But when the transaction season ended, Weeden was still standing throughout OTAs and minicamps as the undisputed starter. Banner/Lombardi replaced Colt McCoy and Thad Lewis with Jason Campbell and Brian Hoyer. As a result, the QB roster was has been upgraded with legit NFL experience.
The article says don't be surprised if Hoyer passes Campbell for the QB2 spot, and it's also possible for the team to carry just Hoyer and Weeden at QB if Campbell falls to number-three. Coaches have always liked Hoyer's work ethic, the knock on him is he doesn't have the arm strength.
