It was all passing, all Wednesday morning for the Chiefs’ quarterbacks, rookies and selected veterans. The Chiefs have not attempted a running play during the team portions of the first two days of camp. Quarterback Alex Smith wasted little time finding his favorite target, rookie tight end Travis Kelce, on several routes.
Kelce is a deep sleeper at the TE position, but the more important thing to note is that the Chiefs are not focused on the running game right now. That might be because they know Jamaal Charles is very capable in that part of the offense and they want to work on the passing game. We wouldn't worry too much about Charles's usage -- LeSean McCoy got plenty of run under Andy Reid in the last few years.
