The Chiefs signed free-agent wide receiver Donnie Avery with the hope he would be the speed receiver opposite Dwayne Bowe and for competition with Jon Baldwin. But Avery, who missed much of the offseason program because of an ankle injury, has had an issue with dropped passes and worked with the second unit.
Fantasy Impact:
We keep waiting for Baldwin's breakout season and this could very well be it - if things stay the same - and with a pass-heavy coach in Andy Reid and a new QB in Alex Smith. He's still nothing more than a late-round flier at this point and there's still a good chance Avery gets a shot to win the job.
