Close calls with Yeremiah Bell and Jason Taylor at Friday’s practice.

With rainy weather looming, the Dolphins headed into the practice bubble for the third day of preparation for Monday night’s visit from the Colts.

It almost turned out to be a regrettable move.

With the defense working in close quarters on half a field, instead of their own practice field outside, a tip drill nearly ended in an injury for strong safety Yeremiah Bell.

Practice squad cornerback Will Billingsley tumbled to the ground and came close to rolling Bell’s right leg.

Bell, who missed the 2007 with an injury, hopped in pain and spiked the ball before he limped away. Bell looked OK when he resumed drills.

A few plays later, back-up safety Tyrone Culver nearly took out Jason Taylor, who agilely avoided the collision and said something to Culver.

But the Dolphins’ continue their clean bill of health.

Everyone practiced today.
