Comcast SportsNet New England Patriots Insider Tom Curran says there is real tension between Rob Gronkowski and his teammates over why he hasn’t played this season. That said, Curran believes neither the teammates nor management will decide when the tight end comes back from his injured forearm.
“It’s an intense urgent curiosity as to why he’s not playing,” Curran told The Jim Rome Show. “I don’t know if he’s had the clearance yet to play in the football game because I think the final say is Gronk’s.”
The feeling is that Gronk is waiting for someone to tell him his arm is going to be fine, but that may never be the case, the story points out. Either way, the final decision, as we learned last week, looks to be Gronkowski's. He ended up missing the first six weeks and could have been put on the PUP list, so it's obvious the team felt he would have played before this point.
